What medical precautions should one take when visiting Uganda?
A:
Consult your local doctor before travelling if you have an 'on-going'
medical condition, and if you are on specific medication don't
forget it at home AND REMEMBER TO CARRY IT IN YOUR HAND LUGGAGE.
Certain prescriptions/drugs may not be available locally so
never be separated from your supply! A yellow Fever vaccination
is advisable and you must take Malaria prophylactics, two weeks
prior to your visit and continue the dosage two weeks after
your return home. Dosages vary with each brand so consult your
local G.P or the nearest 'Tropical diseases clinic' for current
and accurate information.

in the country. The recent re-opening of the Rwenzoris National
Park is a prime example. Hikers and climbers alike are now enjoying
